Kale Logistics Solutions conferred with Best Digital Port/Terminal Innovation award of the Year at Global Port Forum 2020

Mumbai, March 24, 2020: Kale Logistics Solutions, a trusted IT Logistics partner for Fortune 500 companies worldwide, was conferred with the Best Digital Port/Terminal Innovation of the Year 2020 at the coveted Global Ports Forum (GPF) Awards in Dubai, UAE for its Port Community System (PCS) – CODEX

GPF is a consortium that collaborates with Port Authorities around the world, bring together members from the ports ecosystem and organizes quality port related events, executive workshops and short courses.

Kale Logistics Solutions’ PCS -CODEX was recognized for its exemplary achievements for ease of doing business and trade facilitation. CODEX which was earlier recognized by United Nations and Asian Development Bank as innovation in trade facilitation from India. This single window system connects all the port community to exchange information digitally to make container movement seamless, fast and paperless. The port of Tuticorin in southern India where is was first implemented has achieved some remarkable success with container dwell time reducing by 75%, speedy tax refunds to the exporter from 120 days to 7 days and reducing carbon emission by 75%.

The CODEX platform is designed to offer several fulfilment mechanisms as per the guidelines around Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA), outlined by the World Trade Organization (WTO) and United Nations TFA Recommendation No. 33

Recently, UnClaimed Cargo (UCC) module from CODEX went live Kolkata, India Customs, which was meant to solve handling of Unclaimed Cargo at the Container Freight Stations (CFS). This was to facilitate ease of handling cargo for CFS and Customs at the Kolkata Port Ecosystem. Using CODEX’s mobile application, CFS patrons can avail No Objection Certificate online and customs authorities have accurate information. Therefore, there is no question of abandoned freight lying in a Container Freight Station.
